Warren–Michigan Surgical Hospital in Warren recently celebrated its 40th year of medical education.
“We’re now finishing our 40th full year of teaching at Michigan Surgical Hospital,” says Yvonne Kughn, CEO of MSH. “In addition to our wide array of surgical services, we’re proud to be home to the 3 year PMSR Kern Podiatry Residency Program which is an important resource in our community.”
Dr. Kyle Sundblad is director of the residency program, which treats patients for Diabetic foot problems, wounds, limb salvage and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Sundblad says, “Patients know they can trust us to give them compassionate, personal care. It’s also important to the medical community because our residents graduate prepared to treat the most advanced of podiatric foot and ankle problems, and manage the daily responsibilities of private practice.”
Established by Dr. Earl G. Kaplan as the Civic Residency Program, the program has deep roots in the history and development of the rapidly growing profession of podiatry. The program has continued to build on this prestige and is sought out by residency candidates from across the country.
“Our podiatry clinic and its residents see patients with complicated issues who are facing diverse challenges” Dr. Sundblad continues. “We take great pride in treating them with unmatched care.”
